Why did Rita work for Zedd?

Rita was the daughter of Master Vile. Yet she worked for Lord Zedd and was pretty scared of him. Rita was supposed to be the ultimate evil. Enough that Zordon opposed her and was his main rival. Why did she work for Zedd when being Vile's daughter should have opened up more doors for her.

She probably wanted to go out on her own and not be dependent on her father. So she moved up the UAE on her own and wound up under Zedd. Because of her father and her ruthlessness she was treated like main villain.by her peers..

Lord Zedd was a very powerful figure when he ruled the Dark Galaxy. Siding with him would have helped her move up the UAE food chain quicker.

She probably tried to pull one over on Zedd by controlling Earth with plans to build her own empire. Once Zedd lost the dark galaxy his attention shifted back to Earth and Rita's failures.

Those two guys who freed Rita might have worked for Zedd, so Rita decided to conquer the Earth to prove herself to him.

Creative idea. But those were most likely innocent astrononauts. They were very scared after they freed Rita. I don't think they expected to find her.

In the UAE there was a hierchy based on the power you had. Zedd had more power than Rita. So Rita was subborinate of her unless Vile got invovled.

I don't think she really did. Zedd was just more powerful and took control without a fight. Rita was too scared or unable to fight Zedd. Zedd made sure to get rid of her just in case she grew a backbone or became more powerful. .
