Yes to the plot. I wasn't even thinking about it being faithful to the Space team but that's another good point. They had Andros go on ahead since he was the "Space" Ranger and obviously he'd be smart enough to know that if the Data Cards survived the Secret City's destruction then they would've eventually gotten to somewhere or someone dangerous and wise enough to bring them back.

Their Morphers were kept locked up in a room to keep them at a decent temperature so that their grid signatures wouldn't defuse like Zhane's did.
