MMPR Movie Gender Changes
 

In the reboot of Battlestar Galactica a few key characters were reimagined as females. Starbuck and Boomer were woman.

I think the new MMPR movie could benefit from doing this. Jason could be a woman for instance. She would still a strong vharacter. But it would mix things up.and gives the opertunity to see a female Red. Plus it would make the movie stand on its own more.

I don't see the need to do it just for shock value. I don't think the gender of the characters should matter. Its how they are written. Thats what made Battlestar work. The character were well written that atood on their own apart from classic.

I like things the way they are. No need to mess up a perfectly good formula. As long as they don't copy Power/Rangers.

I think they should make yellow male to make it more like Zyuranger. Thuy Trang was a good actress but I never liked yellow being a woman when it wasn't in the sentai. I would love to see an adaption of Zyu Yellow.

I would perfer it if they used Rocky in instead of Jason. He was in all the other movies anyway. Rocky was also red longer. Now to get an actor that can play the character as good as Steve Cardensa.

Adam needs to be in it too. He was better than Zack. No changing his gender though. Maybe Jonny Yong Bosch can voice Zordon.

I don't see any issue as long as the characters were good. We are overdue for a full time female Red anyway. But she would just need to be true to Jason and stand on her own at the same time. Just like Slackhoff's Starbuck.
