Well I got this from my library yesterday and I just got done watching it like about 10 or so minutes ago.

It's a pretty good movie but Gwen's death is so sad.

I don't know whether Superman or Spider-Man has a much worse history than the other in terms of tragedies. Superman lost almost his own kind except for Kara and the evil Kryptonians that were imprisoned in the Phantom Zone while Spider-Man lost his Uncle and his first love.

I dont get why its getting so many medicore reviews. I thought the film was awesome! Gwens death was tragic but I felt like I was seeing an iconic comic book panel come to life when I saw her end.

yea the movie was indeed awesome but it was disappointing to see that Gwen Stacy ended up dying. Emma was so amazing in the role.

The thing is Gwen died in the comics. And that has never been adapted in other media until now. Gwen was always gonna die at some point.

So now there is a lot of talk that Garfield deffinitly won't be back for 3. They want it to be a side story with a fresh start that doent focus on romance. Several actors are up for the role with Tobey Maguire even being considered. Aparently they want to have an older spiderman.

If they go this route its clear Sony doesn't know what the hell they are doing. No wonder they can't buld their own universe. They change with the wind.

yea it was indeed the first time that Gwen's death was adapted into a Spider-Man adaptation of some kind.
In most cases you either don't see her or they don't bother with killing her.

Interesting in regards to Sony but that doesn't surprise me, businesses never know how to make a successful project since they always want to change up the plans which is why I'm sure Raimi got sick of their crap.

Its pretty funny that they rebooted to have a younger spiderman and now supposedly want to go with older one. I know there was money and politics involved for the rebooting but still....

indeed I would have preferred them continuing with the Raimi one but there were various issues involved with that.

I personally was disappointed that they didn't continue with the Raimi continuity of Spider-Man movies. Granted Sony should have followed through on whatever their promise to him was which I believe has to do with something in regards to not interfering with the kind of movie that he wanted to write but I believe Sony tried to back out of that and they were having arguments in regards to the villains that they wanted in the 4th movie.
