How long is each generation??

About how long is each generation of rangers in duty?
In the Episode Forever Red from Wild Force it has about 10 red rangers. All except wes and eric from Time Force, who come from the very distant future, the rest were from the same era...

So is each member in action for like a year before retirement?

Anyone know the timeline??

And if the generations are that close from each other wouldn't it make sense for each new generation to have a leader or commander that was a ranger in the previous?

It all made sense in the MMPR and Turbo in which they actually showed the progression... But now seasons just simply end and new ones start up not tying them together.

Re: How long is each generation??

Umm in each season finale, the new rangers tend to lose their powers and also dont make their identities known.

mmpr rangers lost their powers
Zeo- Rangers changed powers
Turbo- old team left and new team lost powers
In space- Team currently has powers
Lost galaxy, team currently has powers but in another galaxy
Lightspeed, Team currently has powers
Timeforce Team currently has powers but most are in the year 3000
Wildforce team has lost powers
Ninjastorm team has lost powers
Dinothunder team has lost powers
Spd- team has powers but live in the future
mystic force- unknown but assumed
Overdrive current team

But anyway

In the Episode Forever Red from Wild Force it has about 10 red rangers. All except wes and eric from Time Force, who come from the very distant future, the rest were from the same era...

Forever red is ignored because theirs too many continuity errors(tommy fails to have his zeo powers a few years later in dinothunder)

So is each member in action for like a year before retirement?

The makers of the show always changes the cast for each new season. Usually what happens is the previous team loses their powers. Most teams dont reveal who they are. But yes most its a year.

Anyone know the timeline??

With the exception of spd, each season happens right after the other, give or take a few months. Wildforce was probably in action for the last few months of timeforec.

And if the generations are that close from each other wouldn't it make sense for each new generation to have a leader or commander that was a ranger in the previous?

It would make sense if the previous team revealed its identity and they were called together by a leader who could choose who to use. Generally in most cases, the powers are given to those by an external force(god or destiny).

Wes and Eric weren't from the future.

You, will never realize, what darkness lies inside, inside my own mind...

All we can really do is make guesses except for in some cases but I would assume each generation is typically a year except for in the case of MMPR-Space.
Also Wes and Eric were not from the future, their powers were but they weren't.

Not always since having veteran Rangers isn't going to help all that much if they're not familiar with the new threat.

In the case of Lost Galaxy, the Quasar Sabers actually choose who they want to go with.

Captain Mitchell selectively picked out the Lightspeed Rangers for a reason.
Time Force was mostly stolen by Jen and her team because she was determined to make amends for Ransik's unfortunate prison transport escape.

The Power Animals chose who they wanted for their partners.
We know Shane, Tori and Dustin were chosen by destiny.
The Dino Gems chose who they wanted.
S.P.D. was set in the future so much like in the case of Time Force it doesn't really matter... not to mention S.P.D. was a police academy that was training cadets.

They don't always lose their powers in the finale and some did reveal their identities. MMPR lost their powers however the Knight restored Adam's MMPR powers. Zeo's powers are unknown but they were switched to Turbo.
The Turbo team did not lose their powers they were just temporarily disconnected from their power source on Eltar.
Space still has their powers. Galaxy no longer have their powers but they can get them if they need to because of the Sabers still being in the stone.
Lightspeed still has their powers. Time Force still has their powers.
Wild Force did lose their powers but they can always get them back since Shayla is the one that took their Morphers.
Ninja Storm and Dino Thunder did lose their powers but the Sentinel Knight restored Tori and Kira's powers.
S.P.D. still has their powers but they live in the future.
Mystic Force still have their powers as does Overdrive and Jungle Fury. RPM does not have their powers but they can get them back. Samurai still has their powers.

Space, Lightspeed, Time Force, S.P.D, Mystic Force, Overdrive and RPM had public identities or had their secret identities revealed at some point during their season.

Maybe some people ignore it but there are explanations that fans can come up with it for it if they so choose. Tommy having his Zeo powers in Forever Red but no longer having them in Dino Thunder isn't a continuity error.
