DinoThunder Mutliple Seasons
Ninja Storm was a dry run after Disney went with a new production team. So its understandable that it was average. I think they should have kept DinoThunder going indefinitely..Power Rangers is at its best as a Dino based Toku. They should have never gone away from it in the Saban days. And our unfortunately making the same mistake now by not continuing Dino Charge. Ninja Steel will be another step down..

Re: DinoThunder Mutliple Seasons
I can understand why people like the Dinosuar theme since it was there the first few seasons. And Dinoathunder was very good. Dino Charge was mostly pretty decent. But Power Rangers is Much more than that. As shown by the many themes each different season has had. The storyline and characters are more important.

Re: DinoThunder Mutliple Seasons
I would say the Ninja theme is synonymous with PR for me. The Dino Theme doesn't thrill me at all.
|
Re: DinoThunder Mutliple Seasons
lMMPR and DinoThunder are great seasons. But its not about the theme. It has to do with the storylines. Power Rangers is better as a group if different themes anyway. Ninja Storm is hard to get into too much because of what we missed out in Hexagon Ninja Storm. Dino Charge is overrated which is why I didn't mention it above.

Re: DinoThunder Mutliple Seasons
I'm all for it if the season is good enough. Dino Ultra Charge sounds good.
|
Re: DinoThunder Mutliple Seasons
I was actually hoping for SPD to happen. But I wanted it to be a Space Season. The first of many as I think Power Rangers went downhill when it moved away from Space.

Re: DinoThunder Mutliple Seasons
It would have worked storywise. Since the DT Rangers were normal teenagers not connected to a Ninja School or anything. It would have been as good a time as any to go back to the multiple season teams. DC was two seasons but I get you mean the equivalent of two 40 episodes seasons.
|
Re: DinoThunder Mutliple Seasons
Agreed there, but its clear Disney and Saban Brands don't want to go that route again. The Nick 20 episode seasons not withstanding.
|
Re: DinoThunder Mutliple Seasons
It would have been fun to see them go that root. PR has basically been one incarnation at a time for years. So changing things up would be cool. And would.have been back then. I think a two or three full season story would work best. The 20 episode seasons does risk alienating the target audience if you judge this by 40 episodes a season with the current 20 episode rollouts. Since the target audience tends to stick around for two years. Four or five might be pushing it.

Re: DinoThunder Mutliple Seasons
American Sentai should always be one season. The 20 episode two season thing is fine. But otherwise they shoukd be doing things like the Sentai. Its bad enough DinoThunder changed so much. It should have at least followed the Sentai as much as NS. Which only went off course with the original cbaracters. Sloan should not have listened to the fans and went more in the original direction.
|
Re: DinoThunder Mutliple Seasons
It was a disgrace how DinoThunder changed Abaranger. American Sentai needs to know its replace and respect Super Sentai. I am glad Doug was replaced with Kalish, who understood this. And then we went back to Tzachor who was the best at it. Too bad they decided to go more original with RPM and DC.
|
Re: DinoThunder Mutliple Seasons
Agreed, we need Tzachor back. Lynn seems as bad as Sloan when it comes to disrespecting the Sentai. Don't get me started about Eddie. Who was terrible at adapt Sentai.
|
Re: DinoThunder Mutliple Seasons
Now that I have much more of the Sentai I really see why those seasons were bad in hindsight. The Sentai definitely would have been better closy adapted. I also have a greater respect for Kalish and Tzachor.
|
Re: DinoThunder Mutliple Seasons
Tzachor didn't stick closely to the Sentai out of love for it. He simply felt it was more cost effective for PR to use as much Sentai Footage as possible. The fact he was some kind of Sentai Lover turned out to be false. Lynn and Sloan are some of the best writers we have ever had. Copying Sentai too closely is not what works for PR.
|
Re: DinoThunder Mutliple Seasons
Yeah some of us watch Power Rangers and Super Sentai as separate series that just happen to share some of the same footage.
|
Re: DinoThunder Mutliple Seasons
I have to give Tzachor props for Space and Galaxy. Since he was in charge back then. Even if Lynn had a lot to do with it too.
|
Re: DinoThunder Mutliple Seasons
This was probably the height of their collaboration together.
|
Re: DinoThunder Mutliple Seasons
They took PR in a bizzare direction. At least Skulky and Sloan kept Zeo and Turbo somewhat similar to MMPR. Even if those seasons still felt flat.
|
Re: DinoThunder Mutliple Seasons
I wish they brought the show back more to MMPR. Tzachor and Lynn were both around then , so I am surprised that they didn't.
|
Re: DinoThunder Mutliple Seasons
Space and Galaxy stilk strayed from the Sentai too much....But at least it helped to transition American Sentai into following Super Sentai much more closely.
|
Re: DinoThunder Mutliple Seasons
I just like it when PR is good. No matter what it borrows from the Sentai or not. As long as it all makes sense and is entertaining, who cares? Power Rangers and Super Eentai are partners after all.
|
Re: DinoThunder Mutliple Seasons
I don't think JDF wanted to stick around for another season. I think the DT storyline came to its natural conclusion anyway. Dekaranger wouldn't have been compatible with another DT season.
|
Re: DinoThunder Mutliple Seasons
DinoThunder was a good idea that was poorly executed . Tomny was wasted and they didn't get rid of enough or Ninja Storm's mistakes. Sure DT was better than this season but thats not saying much.
|
Re: DinoThunder Mutliple Seasons
I think more than one seasons on one theme can get old. Even the older seasons changed themes. Even if they kept the same casts back then.
