The Lost Galaxy Arch
I always thought the lost Galaxy Arch kinda sucked. It was wierd since the series was named Lost Galaxy and it ended up being a throwaway arch at the end of the season.
Captain Mutiney just didn't compare to Trakeena or any of the other villains. The episodes were born and it just felt like the show took a detour from the main plot. It was just a low point for what was other wise a strong season. |
Re: The Lost Galaxy Arch
I think they were just biding their time. A lot already happened in season 2. With Mike coming back as Magna Defender, Scorpious Dying, Trakeena taking over, the team up, Kendrix dying, and Karone becoming Pink Ranger. They were just biding their time till the finalie.

Re: The Lost Galaxy Arch
I kinda liked the arch. The rest of LG was bleh. The Lost Galaxy arch was more fun and kinda reminded me of MMPR. No where near as good but better than the rest of LG.

Re: The Lost Galaxy Arch
Yeah, it did kinda drag. I wanted to get back to the main story too. The only good episode was the one where Mike frees the slaves and gives up his powers. But the rest of LG was pretty tremendous.

Re: The Lost Galaxy Arch
I really didn't like Captain Mutiny. He was a big step down from Trakeena. Deviot annoyed me. I would have rather have had Villamax stranded in the Lost Galaxy. The arch was just so slow moving and dreary

Re: The Lost Galaxy Arch
I thought it was a mistake not to kill Mike in the episodes with the slaves. There is no way he should have been able to survive that. Plus it would have made the sacrifice mean a lot. It would have upped the stakes for the final battle emotionally.

Re: The Lost Galaxy Arch
That would have been redundant. They should never have brought him back in the first place. The second Megna Defender should have been a new character. Then Mike's death in tbe premiere wouldn't have been cheated.
|
Re: The Lost Galaxy Arch
Maybe Megna Defender could have absorbed Mike's body and not his mind. It would have made things very hard on Leo.
|
Re: The Lost Galaxy Arch
It sucked. Luckly the rest of Galaxy was very good. So its still one of the best.
|
Re: The Lost Galaxy Arch
I didn't think it was that bad. It got them to the final arch. And used up some sentai footage. Mutiny was an pretty scary villan. He took slaves and treated them brutally. Reminds me of Zarkon in Voltron. He even had an old witch.
|
Re: The Lost Galaxy Arch
It was bad dude, didn't even fit the rest of the season. The slave plot was pretty scary. But it can't save the arch.
|
Re: The Lost Galaxy Arch
I liked it to. It was kinda fun. Plus they did everything else with Trakeena besides the finalie arch. Captian Mutiny wasn't bad as a side villian. It was a miniseries within the series like the Physco and Alien Ranger archs.

I agree that Captain Mutiny just didn't stack up to Trakeena, Scorpius, Treacheron or Deviot. I didn't think all of the episodes that took place in the Lost Galaxy were boring but some of them were. I'm sure it was just there as an excuse to use a bit more Sentai footage and as a way to get rid of Trakeena, Villamax, Kegler and Stingwingers for the time being since Trakeena and Stingwingers were American creations and while both Villamax and Kegler originated in Sentai all of their footage was reshot. |

Also because of all of that happening they were needing to reshoot a lot of scenes. Scorpius and Trakeena were both original creations for example same with the Stingwingers. The Space/Galaxy teamup was all original footage minus stock shots of the Astro Megazord forming and cockpit scenes for both Megazords. |
Re: The Lost Galaxy Arch
I didn't particluarly care for it. It was pretty boring and was basicly filler until the finalie. It just felt like an unwelcome detour.

Re: The Lost Galaxy Arch
It is interesting they let them get away with the fake death. It took several episodes before it was even implied Mike was still alive. Not counting the fake out with the monsters posing as him. They also let Alex "die" in an even more gruesome way.

Re: The Lost Galaxy Arch
It does seem odd that they would allow fake deaths. Wouldn't it be just as traumatic since the person seems to really die. And there is no guarantee the same kids are still watching when they come back.
|
Re: The Lost Galaxy Arch
We would have just got more fillers without it.
|
Re: The Lost Galaxy Arch
Lg is when PR got too serious. But the Lost Galaxy arch was just weird.
|
Re: The Lost Galaxy Arch
It just went on for too long. Clearly because they were buying time until the finalie and using all the Gingamen footage they could.
|
Re: The Lost Galaxy Arch
The arch really showed what American Sentai could do when they use Sentai Footage to the fullest. ASLG would have been much better this way. Of course it would still be inferior if they didn't follow Gingamen very closely.Which wouldn't have happened since that Sentai eas a nature Sentai.
|
Re: The Lost Galaxy Arch
The arch may have used a lot of Sentai Footage but wasn't really Gingamen heavy storywise. It was still a show about a space station. They juwt used the Gingamen villains more heavily.
|
Re: The Lost Galaxy Arch
I thought the whole season was boring. Most of it didn't even feel like Power Rangers.
|
Re: The Lost Galaxy Arch
I enjoyed it because it was a nice change of pace. Its better than more fillers until the finale. Lost Galaxy was when Tzachor was at his best.
|
Re: The Lost Galaxy Arch
Tzachor didn't truly find his way until Lightspeed Rescue. Where American Sentai finally started to follow Super Sentai. Time Force was his masterpiece.
