Who is Lord Drakkon?
 

Screenrant talked with Kyle Higgins ( Boom MMPR comics ) about issue 12 and the recent big reveal of Lord Drakkon's idenity....Along with his backstory. Drakkon is a mysterious new evil Ranger..The MMPR comic explores the days after Tommy first joined the team and features original storylines..

This sounds awful. An alternate universe with an evil Tommy? Thats just bad, even an alternate Tommy should never turn evil.

Sounds pretty amazing to me. Its awesome to explore what might have been . I wonder how this Tommy went so bad? Its going to be interesting to find out what happened to Rita. I wonder why Lord Zedd hasn't returned.

Agreed. Nice to see someone realize the evil potential Tommy has. Even it has to be an AU of the era I actually don't mind Tommy .

Eh, not really good for my tastes. Making it all about Tommy and some alternate evil version is ridiculous. The comics should be focusing on everyone. And really should have started with the era before Tommy.

I would have rather the comic reboot things from the beginning. It would have been interesting to get the alternate origin story.

I don't like that the new comic isn't part of the television continuity. It would have been easy to do too. Since I am sure there were many off air adventures for the MMPR team.

The Boom Comics are doing some good stuff. I am loving Lord Drakken. Parallel universe stories are always fun. And its really cool to see what they are doing with AU Tommy. He is almost like the evil White Ranger. Which is interesting since people that don't like Tommy,seem to hate his time as White Ranger.

I am pretty surprised. I thought he was going to be an alien or something. But this really makes things close to home. It will be interesting to see how the MMPR Tommy deals with this. Since he is already guilty from being under Rita's control.

The comics are better than the show. They should just reboot everything after Wild Force in the comics. The comic book series would be able to make those actually good seasons.

I find the comic books offensive. They have nothing to do with the Sentai Storylines. And more MMPR pandering is not what American Sentai needs. The comic books should have been Manga done by Toei and exported to the US.

Yes because we don't want imagination or for the comic boom writers to think for themselves. More MMPR is fine if you bring something new to the table. Which Boom clearly has..They are telling stories that couldn't be told back then. And really couldn't be told now with the old cast.

I hope they give Trini more focus and maybe even her own special issue. Since there is so much more to be done with the character. The old seasons didn't use her enough.

I thought the whole idea of a new Ranger being retconned in sounded silly. But now that we know who he is and where he is fun...It sounds quite awesome!

I don't like comic books for tv shows. Since they always seem to mess up continuity. They only work when they are the continuation of a cancelled or discontinued season.

They don't have sentai footage to worry about. So they can tell their own stories. Which makes sense since the comics are based off MMPR, not Zyuranger or any Sentai.

I find you and your Sentai obsession offensive. Power Rangers doesn't need to be a Sentai copycat since there's no point in doing things that way since if you want to watch Sentai then the product has already been made so any of us can watch it whenever we choose to.

Its hard for me to find the time to collect comic books. I wonder if they sell them digitally?

I will say separate Sentai Comics would be cool. But thats up to Toei. And Saban too, if Toei tries to bring them into North America.

But I think the whole idea is to focus on making the MMPR comics a success before worrying about other teams, let alone potential Sentai Comics. And I can't blame them for that. Since it seems like the best way to go.

If they really wanted to they could do the continuing adventures of all the popular Ranger teams. We already have seen two massive team ups in the show. They would have would have quite the shared universe.

This is a very smart idea. Being in comic book form allows them to go different routes that couldn't be done ln the series. Especially since this is its own continuity.

That all does seem like a pretty amazing idea. Especially when you are working with the original MMPR characters. It would have been easy to play it safe but they are not doing that.

I don't know its a little much to think that this all happened off screen in the middle of MMPR.

Its its own continuity. It wouldn't have made sense in the tv continuity.

Never expected him to be a different version of Tommy.

I could see could see the regular PRU Tommy becoming a Lord Drakken like fugure in the present or the future. Especially since his mentor was Zordon.
