DT/SPD Team up Rumors posted by PRangerX on 02-13-2005 14:11
|
Over the last few days, rumors of
a proposed SPD/DT
team up sprang up in the fandom. It seems now that these rumors are
false. Here is a quote from the rumor debunker
"You people need
to wake up Matrix is a fruad. I know him from Dino Thunder yahoo group.
He is Mike Hiller. The same guy who claimed he flew to New Zealand meet
Doug. When Doug denied it. He has no real sources. He uses all kinds of
names."
Credit PowerDigiDragon from rangerboard.com
All
mention of the rumor has been deleted in earlier newsbytes. Sorry a lot
of people were fooled by this one. Rumors like these should always be
taken with a grain of salt.

SPD ep#3 "Confronted" posted by CelestialRanger07 on
02-13-2005 11:49
|
Hello people, I'll be reviewing
Power rangers SPD third episode "Confronted"
Another
Red ranger based Episode, as Jack Landor takes way too seriously his
leadership powers for being the Red ranger. This episode is kinda
similar to Lightspeed episode#3 "Trial by fire" where Carter gets the
fastest time but the lowerest score and Carter feels that he's not cut
out to be a ranger.
But on SPD is diferent, This time is his team that doubts his
leadership skills as he abuses his powers.
Plot- 8/10 A little recycled and odbious.
Battles-10/10 I loved those zord battles, they were great non rushed.
Special
effects: 8/10 Those sentai clips looked so cheap. and disney needs to
improve their editing when mixing sentai and american footage.
specially on the Judgement part.
Jokes: 10/10 Good jokes!!
Monster: 9/10 Good, not the best.
Final score: 7.5/10(Using this review scale.)
On my enjoyment: 10/10

Majiranger to shoot in New Zealand posted
by RangerKing on 02-12-2005 22:21

Since the squadron starting,
first overseas
location was done in New Zealand. Why, in New Zealand? With it is
thought being, the ginger, as for the reason two. First, in order it
materializes to convert world view of the latest magical squadron, the
location place of the wide blue sky and grand view had to be necessary.
And second, presently, broadcast 13th year, is in the midst of
broadcasting at the country and area of 130, because ' the power ranger
' (the American edition of the squadron series) it is photographed in
New Zealand, with cooperation of the local staff, " you can take the
image which has suitable force in the マジレンジャー, it is not different!
Because " with you were convinced, is.
The material which was
photographed in New Zealand, is used with the scene and the large フカン
et cetera of the Ozu house which fly through the sky with title back
image and the sky hoe key of opening, it is is, but you could be
attached the air? The blue sky and the dynamic view which are perfectly
clear exact in the world of the マジレンジャー! We convey the pattern of the
New Zealand location with the photograph of making!
--From the TOEI website.
This
was done to help Disney make footage that blends in with Super Sentai
easily with Power Rangers by using NZ locations. This means that Disney
does want to continue the show until at least 2006. Remember the new
seasons name will be released in Summer 2005!

Red Ranger is Confronted posted by Laterdayz on 02-12-2005 10:39
|
"You may be the Red Ranger,
but your no leader"
Every year since the very beginning the Power Rangers have been led by
ranger of amazing strength, resourcefulness and integrity. The Red
Ranger. These Rangers, for the most part, have all been similar,
fighting and sacrificing for the side of good without any doubt in
themselves or their cause. But with the past few season of Power
Rangers the trend has been changed and we are now meeting Red Rangers
you would have never thought of as leaders.
First we had Shane,
The Red Ninja Ranger, a goofy fun loving kid who was a step away from
being kicked out of ninja school. We watched as he grew into a very
serious and amazingly skilled ninja master. Next we had Conner, The Red
Dino Ranger. Conner was a typical teenaged jock, cocky, ignorant, and
selfish. We watched as he grew from a teen only out for himself to a
hero willing to sacrifice everything for the world and a team he
otherwise would have never taken the time to acknowledge (Say what you
will about Conner but I for one welcome the change he brought to the
Red Ranger image. I think that most of the Conner bashing is just alot
of people trying to be cool and jumping on the bandwagon of a few of
the older fans). Now we have Jack Landers, The S.P.D Red Ranger. A
former thief with a chip on his shoulder, yet a good heart. When he was
chosen to be Red Ranger alot of the fans (and even his fellow Rangers)
were left scratching their heads. I mean, he's a thief. But then again
he's a thief that only stole things to give to the poor. He's also a
thief who outskilled the top cadets from the S.P.D Ranger academy. Not
to mention he also seems to have a hero complex where he is willing to
to help people no matter what they may have done to him. That and from
the way this guy jumps into battle its obvious that he is willing to go
that extra length to get the job done. I think its safe to say that for
these reasons and more Commander Crueger felt that Jack was the right
choice to become Red Ranger. That's not to say that the transition from
normal guy to the only line of defense for a galaxy in peril was going
to be easy. Especially as shown in today's episode.
In today's
episode Jack finally realizes what he got himself into. After a nearly
failed arrest attempt that he should have led Jack realizes that he is
suppose to be the leader (I think its safe to say that he doesn't
follow Power Rangers like everyone else). Taking the role to heart
however Jack abuses his power like no other Ranger on the side of good
has. He does everything from ordering the other Rangers to clean their
room to trying to punk his second in command Sky. Not to mention using
his Ranger status to get a little *action* and succesfully making
Crueger drop down to the level of a normal dog, and growl at him. Jack
is taking advantage of the perks of his position but trying to cover it
up by saying he is doing his job. But when he gets called on it by
Crueger and his fellow Rangers Jack is left speechless when he is asked
to turn in his morpher. Then as Jack watches his team go into battle he
finds himself worrying about the team and if they can win the battle.
Its torture for him as he then has to admit that he was wrong. His role
as Ranger isnt about throwing out commands to benifit himself but to
benifit his team and to make sure the job gets done. Jack learns his
lesson (remember its only a thirty minute show) and steps up to the
plate leading the team to victory in their first battle using the Delta
Squad Megazord. Later on Crueger asks the other for Rangers if they
feel ok being led by Jack. Each Ranger gives their approval, except for
Sky. We don't hear what he has to say but we do see him watching Jack
train alone, and slightly nodding in approval.
This ws an
overall awesome episode. I like that unlike last years Red Ranger focus
episode that Jack quickly excepts his role, and becomes the first
Ranger in history to abuse the power and not be under the influence of
evil. If anything Jack is under the influence of his own ego. He is so
use to doing his own thing with a partner that had the same goals as he
had (Z) that the entire team aspect is new to him. Even Z questions
Jack and it is obvious it hurts because they are so close to each
other. In the coming episodes I hope to see more episodes of Jack
realizing how important it is that they work as a team and that he
become a good leader because the Rangers work best as a full team, not
a broken one. As for the other Rangers they did solid jobs all around.
Its cool to see that while morphed they are a solid team even so early
in their careers. I am also liking what they are doing with Sky. You
can tell it still hurts that he wasn't chosen as Red Ranger but you can
also tell that he is all about getting the job done. And although he is
not convinced Jack is right for the Red Ranger role that last shot of
him watching Jack train is that little glimmer of hope that makes me
think that by the end of their adventure those 2 are going to be good
friends and a powerful duo. I won't get into the villains because I
can't stand Mora and they managed to dumb down Grumm in a matter of a
week. That has to be a new record. The great Ranger interactions and
the cool looking Megazord (I love the entire flashing sirens thing)
made up for it. Well another week down and another adventure to come.
Here's hoping that next weeks episode keeps up the winning streak S.P.D
has going for it. Laterdayz

SPD Review for "Beginnings Parts 1 and 2"
posted by PRangerX on
02-08-2005 18:48
|
SPD Review for Beginnings
Power Rangers
Space Patrol Delta has begun with a bang; armed with future
technonlogy, a few young actors, good action, interesting new
characters and more. The latest installement in the Power Rangers
Franchise has lifted off.
Space Patrol Delta tells us the story
of the the near future, where humans an aliens coexist. Space Patrol
Delta protects Earth from aliens and humans who have turned to crime.
Our hereos our the B Squad cadets. They soon are sent into action with
a few new recruits ( former theives). Together the new team must fight
the forces of Emperor Gruum and learn to become a true team.
I
liked the new Ranger characters, they still are very green. This is
very much a growing experiance for them. Sky is too full of himself and
needs to learn to work as a team member rather than just a leader.
Sydney and Bridge seem to be a little over their head. Jack needs to
learn to put his leaderskip skills to use. We didn't see many flaws
from Z ( besides being a theif) but we know she yearns for something
better in her life. All this makes for some interesting character
development.
I like Commander Krugar. At first I thought he was
going to be goofy looking. It doesn;t look as bad as I thought, he
looks like a mentor to be taken seriously. He doesn't look like a joke
or anything. I like his character, he will be very different than Tommy.
Emporer
Gruumm seems very interesting. He is very dark and mysterious. I am
glad we are keeping the menacing bad guy formula. He looks like some
one that will be a true that is an interesting villian to explore.
Piggie doesn't look like much but will serve some purpose. All in all
it looks like the Troobians are going to be bad ass villians. It was
chilling when Gruum pulled away from the planet he reduced to nothing (
the first we see of him).
The Doctor and Boom seem like they
will be interesting side characters, Kat seems very mature and
distinguished. She wasn't used much buy seems like she will be a
Fairweather type character. Boom seems like a lovable guy, who will be
a friend to the Rangers.
The action was top notch. The unmorphed
fight scenes and morphed Ranger battles were well choregarphed as
usual. The fight scenes between the theives and orginal B Squad members
was well done. I liked the Delta Blaster. Jack used in the end to fight
of the Krybots. The Megazord battle was short but it wasn't going to be
long . A Squad are clearly not the main characters So no need to see a
long zord battle.
Overall, Space Patrol Delta looks good. It
gave us interesting characters, goof action, and interesting start to a
seeming interesting story. The priemere packed great action and
wonderful visuals. The story of SPD looks strong so far. I for one look
forward to future episode

I have uploaded some of my old
content from prod.
This will be temporary till ChronoRanger does the new templates to the
individual sections. The Alpha Zone contains the database, summeries,
expanded database, and episode guide. The SPD Section is up; as well as
the links secton and the web alliance. Expect the other sections to be
up later. If there is any other broken links that is because I did all
this real quick and need to fix them. Please have patience as we
continue the move. ChronoRanger will eventually enhance this content
with more of his cool designs. This will just help get prod (
rangerdatabase.com) ready to become a redirect for PRO.

Why Do I follow the mythos of Power? posted
by NinjaJack on 02-07-2005
23:26
|
Theres pleanty of fandoms and
confederations one
can join in a lifetime. The G.O.P., PETA, AA. But I`m a member of the
GKA. Giant Killers Anonymous.
Why NinjaJack? What pray tell is the G.K.A. anyway? Well I`m glad you
asked.
You see a long time ago when I saw the classic MMPR episode "Gung Ho" I
saw that this series wasn`t a mere toy comercial as it seemed at first
glance. This show had a personality and a sense of humanity to it. I
knew this series would be my calling. And through the years of watching
it grow from a spirited fun kids show, with a transparent budget, into
the powerhouse phenom it is today I can safely say I made the right
choice. PR inspired me to draw and create my own heroes which in turn
inspiried my love for film and production work. I owe my love for movie
making and hero creating to PR and of course Stan Lee and Jack Kirby!
"G.K.A." really is just a symbol of what PR stands for. PR is more than
just a 20 minute toy comercial. It`s a chance to see people in action
working together to complete a task. Which doesn`t always include
blowing up the antagonist of the day. Theres been daring rescues from
towering infernos, toppling buildings, and garages. Rangers have done
everything from dealing with death to teen crime and even questions of
charecter.
I never knew a show that could be taken so lightly
one episode and so serious the next. The drama in Power Rangers really
sold to it`s audiences and beyond. Time Force might be slightly
overhyped, but it`s one of the four series,MMPR,PRIS,PRLG and PRDT,
people outside of the fandom really seem to love.
This thing
is more than a show to me, as someone once said at the AFPR "PR is a
long evolving movie with an ever expanding cast of characters".
As
S.P.D begins and Megchan starts translating Majiranger for 2006,
remember this show has what pleanty that have come and gone lacked,
alot of heart.

S.P.D Delivers posted by Laterdayz on 02-07-2005 08:15
|
It is now 15 years in the future
and the Earth, as
we know it is a very different place. Thanks to the many battles fought
by the Power Rangers through the years the Earth is now a safe haven
where humans and aliens live together in peace. But when that 1% of the
world who thrives on evil makes their move, the Earth has their
protectors ready to go to work: The Power Rangers S.P.D. Trained at an
elite academy only the best of the best get the chance to wield the
power. Well ok that’s not entirely true, because if you’re Sky, Syd,
Jack, Z, and Bridge, you get the chance to wield the power only when
the A-Squad Rangers are busy. But when the A- Squad is called out into
space for a mission its up to these 5 rookies to save us all. Let’s
just hope they don’t kill each other first.
Power Rangers S.P.D
is the 13th season of Power Rangers and if I had to describe what I
thought about this season opener in7 words I would say very loudly:
“DAMN, THIS SEASON IS GOING TO BE AWESOME!” Right off the bat we have
references to the past (an Aquitian, the A-Squad Ranger uniforms),
mystery (who is Sky’s father?), and hot Rangers (If I were on the team
I would be all over the Yellow Ranger). But I’m probably just repeating
what others have already pointed out, like the cool morphing sequences,
breathtaking stunts, good humor, an interesting design for Chief Anubis
'Doggie' Cruger, and a kick ass theme song (I am so happy to hear the
words Go, Go, and Power Rangers all in the same song again. Its
something I missed that Dino Thunder didn’t have in their otherwise
awesome theme song) but to me the coolest aspect of the show isn’t just
all that stuff. That’s the eye candy. The elements that are going to
make or break this show are the personalities of the S.P.D Rangers
themselves. These guys are skilled, they have the power, they have
their heart in the right place but they are missing one of the most
important aspects of being a ranger. Something that has led each Ranger
team to ultimate victory in the past. The power of teamwork. These guys
aren’t best friends and they aren’t trying to be. They have a job to do
but the problem is that they are all not on the same page.
Syd the Pink Ranger, a beautiful girl who has to be 10x better to be
taken seriously in her line of work, Bridge the Green Ranger, the
kindhearted and slightly naïve Ranger who probably gets more eye
roles
then hellos, Z the Yellow Ranger, who took the job looking simply for
somewhere to belong, Sky the Blue Ranger, whose cockiness and need to
be just like his father (a former Red Ranger) will undoubtedly screw
him over in the long run, and Jack the Red Ranger, a former thief whose
in your face nature threatens to tear apart the very team he is suppose
to lead.
I probably just made everyone think that I hate the
new Rangers but I don’t. I see great potential in having heroes like
this. Gone are the Rangers who were perfect in every way. Now we have
heroes who we can watch grow and mature into the heroes they are
destined to be (I say destined because I am sticking with my theory
about all Power Rangers and their abilities that I posted on
rangerboard). Every victory, every defeat, every crappy day, every good
day that these guys share together are going to transform this team
into the planet’s ultimate bad asses and I can’t wait till we get to
see these guys really let loose on Grumm and his forces.
My predictions for the season? Syd and Bridge are going to earn the
respect they deserve from their fellow Rangers, Z will finally become
part of something that will make her feel good about herself and her
past deeds, and Jack and Sky will put their beef aside and realize that
its not about your ranger color but what you can bring to your ranger
team. Sounds like good watching to me. Now bring on the Dino Rangers!
LOL Just kidding….or am I….? Laterdayz

Late Late DinoThunder Thoughts posted by PRangerX on 02-05-2005 12:53

Late Late DinoThunder Final
Thoughts
DinoThunder
was an exciting year. It saw the return of one of the most beloved
Rangers in the show's history. It also saw a more mature theme than
Ninja Storm. It also went back to the story telling method of story
archs. Dintothunder was a fun and wild ride that really excited the
fandom. Yet it still had its flaws.
Just what made Dinothunder
work? Well the return of Tommy Oliver was one thing. But you really
can't pinpoint the success of the season on that specifically.
DinoThunder had an engaging plot that kept people guessing. The White
Ranger story arch, the Anton Mercer/Mesgogog plot, Zeltrax/ Oliver
revenge plot, and more kept things interesting. Instead of just an
episode by episode show like Ninja Storm was at times, viewers were
engaged by stories that lasted longer than just one episode. Another
thing that made DT popular was the way it was able to keep the light
hearted elements of the season balanced by the serious elements. The
character of DinoThunder were also fun and a treat to watch on screen.
DinoThunder also had a lot of references to Power Ranger's past. We had
a great villian that posted a serious threat. DinoThunder also had one
of the best team ups ever.
But to focus on Tommy Oliver's return
itself. Tommy's return was well excuted. They gave him a backstory that
fit DT well. While earning a doctorate in so short a time from the
Turbo season may seem impossible in the real world, this is Power
Rangers where anything seems possible. So no need to read into things
that much. Tommy was a smart guy, even back in the day. It isn't a
strech to see him as a Doctor. Tommy didn't seem to hog the spotlight
and the character worked well as a mentor to the Rangers. The writers
did a good job of writing a Tommy that was obviously more mature than
the one we had known. Jason David Frank seemed to show this maturity
well. DinoThunder wasn't about Tommy, he was just a part of it. I think
that helped keep things honest.
DinoThunder had its share of
fanboy moments. The return of Tommy Oliver was not the only one of
those momments. The season saw the five hundredth episode of the
franchise. We were treated to "Legacy of Power". This was a clip show
that recapped the whole entire history of the show. Sure some important
parts were left out but thats to be expected. A show older than a
decade can't simply be recapped in an half an hour. The
Dinothunder/Ninja Storm team up was well done and really served to
connect the two seasons well. The team up actually seemed like an
episode of Ninja Storm at times. Fighting Spirit was a great episode.
For the first time we got to see the green , white, and red Zeo Ranger
costumes. To see Tommy fight his three Ranger forms was almost
unconcievable just a year prior. It really was Forever Red quality
stuff. So DinoThunder did have it's share of holy shit moments, that
made it even more special.
DinoThunder was a very enjoyable
series due to the above. But at the same time it did have its draw
backs. After the frist ten episodes the pacing of DinoThunder just
seemed to be off. You had the whole Dr Oliver stuck in morphed form
plot that angered a lot of fans. But that was unaviodable for behind
the scenes issues. The Whole Trent storyline seemed to jump around too
much. One minute he was a good guy trying to fight off evil control and
than he was evil but independent of Mesogog. Than all of the sudden he
was part of Mesogog's army. Not soon after jioning Mesogog's army he
was freed from the evil control and jioned the Rangers. It seemed like
Trent's story, while engaging kind of dropped off after that (or at
least until we got to the final battle between him and the White Ranger
Clone). His story did pick up again when he wrestled with not revealing
his father's secret. But even than the resolution was a cop out. The
Rangers quickly forgave Trent and Mesogog simple spit from Mercer
easily. The White Ranger Clone arch itself seemed to not have enough
closure. I mean it was a cool story arch that could have been explored
more. Outside of the archs climax I feel the White Ranger Clone arch
was just grossed over.
Zeltrax was an excellent henchman but I
feel his potential was also wasted. I mean first of all his rivalery
with Tommy was never explioted to the fullest early on. Oliver always
defeated him in battle, making him seem like a non threat. The Zeltrax
arch was saved a little when he came back as a free agent and seemed to
be more of a threat. But even than he was barely used and was quickly
disposed of in the second part of the finalie ( much to easil)y. His
true idenity as Terrence Smith was never expolered to the fulliest.
Sometimes the Characters said lines that seemed to be out of place.
Some of the one liners were just too much. The later half of
DinoThunder picked up the slack after the middle half, but even than
their were too many fillers leading up to the finalie. The first part
of the finalie was great but the second half really left much to be
desired. The finish was rushed and didn't seem to provide enough
closure.
Was DinoThudner the best season? I wouldn't say so, it
had its flaws. DinoThunder was not the best season, it was just a
quality season that stands up with many of the other years. In a lot of
ways you can see the producers did the best they could under the
circumstances. Parts of DinoThunder may have been disapointing but it
is good enough to be looked upon fondly. DinoThunder was overall a good
Power Rangers series that could have been even better

Great Expectations posted by PRangerX on 02-05-2005 12:47

Great Expectations
Expectations
seem to not be a shortage in this fandom. Everyone always looks to the
next year of Power Rangers with dread or with great exictement. People
rush to make judgement on a show before it even airs. This is due to
the internet and the information that can be released on the shows
primise at a quick rate. People become so quick to make judgements on
what they hear or how they think a particular series will work. This
has gone on for numeuros of Power Rangers seasons'. While it is only
human to do this, I think it is rather hard to make any kind of
judgement on a new season till you watched at least half of its
episodes ( let along watchng the first few episodes first).
A
lot of times these people that get overexcited about a new season and
allow these epectations to overtake them. When the new season doesn't
make these epectations right away they sometimes overract and feel
disapointed. On the filp side. When people go in thinking a series is
going to be crap they sometimes don't give the show a chance to really
impress them on its own merits. Both sides are unfair and our delluting
their enjoyment of the show by doing this. But I suppose we have all
been guilty of either of the two offenses at least once in this fandom.
Another
thing a lot of people like to do is compare the new season to the
privous. This was especially common when cast changes first became
yearly. People spent soo much time missing the past season that they
started to let it effect their enjoyment of the new season. They failed
to realize that the new season was totally different than the prievious
one and therefore couldn't be a carbon copy of it. You can see this
evident it he transition from Lost Galaxy to Lightspeed Rescue.
All
in all, I think the best way to go into theses new seasons is with no
expectations at all. Think it if as a new series in the PRU. Don't
worry about references to the past or what happned last season. Just
judge the new season based on its own merits. Don't let the promos or
information influence you too much. Don't go in thinking the series is
going to be the best ever or the worst ever. Give the series a chance.
If it really is that bad after numerous episodes ( or that good) than
you can bash it (or praise it). I think this will allow people to
accept the changes in PR more.
I think a lot of fans have
already begun using this approach. It seems to be the best one to
take. There is bound to be some disapoimnment after DinoThunder and all
the referecenes to the past we got. Plus the fact DinoThunder is
beloved by a lot of people. All I can say is that DinoThunder is it's
own season and has nothing really to do with Space Patrol Deta's story
(except that they both takes place in the PRU).
I remember when
Lost Galaxy started, I love space so much I kept on comparing Lost
Galaxy to that series. This caused me to not enjoy season 1 as much as
a should of. Once "Redemption Day" aired I realized Lost Galaxy was a
good season all its own. I really enjoyed season two of Lost Galaxy. I
made the same mistake with Lightspeed Rescue but learned to apreciate
it better through the reruns. Ninja Storm is another series I didn't
give a chance and later learned to respect. Theses days, I have learned
to take the wait and see approach. Why get burned by my own
expectations or by feelings of nostolgia.
So in closing, don't
go into Space Patrol Delta expecting Time Force 2 or DinoThunder
Revisited. Expect a brand new season to exist on its own merits.
Especially with the new showrunners taking the helm this year. Sure
will have the token monster battles and zord fights. But the story and
themes will be unique to Space Patrol Delta. Don't let your
expectations or feelings of nostolgia influence you. You may cheat
yourself out of a positive viewing experiance.

SPD - "Beginnings" Review posted by Trekkieb47 on 02-05-2005 12:00

Power Rangers: SPD has certainly
kicked off the new
Power Rangers season with an entertaining “Beginning”. Well
choreographed fight scenes, some humor, and good characters are going
to make this season fun to watch.
“Beginnings” is a great
premiere. It introduces all of the characters in a great way, showing
Sky, Syd, and Bridge as competent but still learning the ropes as
cadets. There were some moments where they seemed a little pushy about
wanting to be rangers, but I’ll take it as high enthusiasm. Jack and Z
are longtime friends helping out poor aliens, their heart is in the
right place, but the way they are carrying out their task is
nonetheless illegal. Doggie Krueger, makes for a knowledgeable leader,
with the alluring Kat and comic relief (well… with all the “comedy” in
the episode…more like klutzy sidekick) Boom.
As for the bad
guys, Grumm right now feels like another “lets destroy Earth for no
reason” nemesis, but it seems he has a past connection to Krueger; also
Earth could be the next target for alien resources. Piggy was…
interesting, but I thought he was going to be more of an informant to
the rangers, not as a lackey of Grumm's. No sign of the child Mora, and
a very short intro to Omni (Aburera in SPD’s sentai counterpart
Dekaranger).
First of all the action was stunning, I loved the
unmorphed fights and the new American footage of Ranger action. The
pacing was quick and the Ranger’s unmorphed powers weren’t over used,
much like how DinoThunder handled those kinds of powers. It was also
nice to see the ranger training towards the middle of the episode, it
makes it more believable that there is a whole ranger academy out there
training future generations. It will be interesting to see if more
squad members will be given any small spotlight like the A-Squad
rangers.
Speaking of A-squad rangers, I think their suits were
ok, I liked the nod to Space using the helmets, and the armor was very
SWAT-esqe like Dekaranger, but where was the spandex? Well it wasn’t
that bad, the leather made it look more armored.
Great points:
- Action, Action, Action!
- The morphing sequence
- The fast paced music with guitar rips
- The props… those were wild guns and I liked the jeep and bike
- CGI on Grumm’s ship, it really added depth that he has some huge
fleet of monsters with him
-
Future society, for instance Bridge mentioned “can’t we work this out”
very… Federation like, made humans seem to be at peace with aliens
- Kat, for being the sexiest live cat girl to grace any TV screen.
Not-so-good points:
- The humor, or attempt at it, was a little much at some points. I hope
they tone it down.
- Doggie was ok… it will just take a few episodes to get used to it.
- Poor Murphy… I mean R.I.C. you think Kat could repair him in a hurry.
- SHORTEST. ZORD. FIGHT. EVER.
Final rating, I give SPD “Beginnings” a 8/10
Berry
